Solar Vision 2025 Energy Transformation Summit and Exhibition

17 December 2025

The Association's former Board Chairman, current Board Member, and IC Enterra CEO Cem Aşık shared his international investment experiences and recommendations at Solar Vision 2025.

Mr. Cem highlighted the significant differences between Western Europe, Eastern Europe, the Turkic Republics, Asia, Africa, and the US markets, emphasizing that geographical suitability must be analyzed correctly, regulations and bureaucratic processes must be well managed, and that relationships with local authorities and transparency vary considerably from country to country. He stated that similar structural problems encountered in Turkey can also be seen in different markets, and that understanding the country and local dynamics requires serious preparation and effort. Referring to financing expectations and the critical role of project financing, he stated that working with the right business partners and, in particular, implementing the first project is the most difficult but most decisive threshold; after the first successful project, financiers move much more comfortably.

In the session moderated by Solarbaba Founder Ateş Uğurel, Vestel Mobility Business Development Manager Alper Çetin discussed the role of battery technologies in the transformation, while PİLDER Chairman Kadem Usta addressed the future of the energy storage sector and current issues faced in the industry. Vahap Atalay, Board Member of Mensis, shared his assessments on Turkey's solar energy potential and grid constraints.

The Electricity Producers Association (EÜD), which unites electricity producers in the Turkish energy sector under a single roof, has an installed capacity of approximately 57,000 MW with 69 members.

Since its establishment in 2002, EÜD has been operating to contribute to the creation of a competitive and transparent market, to find solutions to common problems on behalf of Independent Electricity Generation Companies, and to improve information sharing and cooperation among its members. In addition, it has been working steadfastly for the establishment of a financially sound, stable and transparent market that can operate under the provisions of private law in order to provide electricity to consumers in a sufficient, high quality, continuous, economic and environmentally friendly manner and to ensure independent regulation and supervision in this market.
